Not in Service, an award-winning documentary directed by David Sebastiao, B.A. ’16, MFA ’21, and produced by Silent Media, will be presented at The University of Baltimore on Tuesday, Sept. 29 beginning at 6 p.m. in the Bogomolny Room of the UBalt Student Center, 21 W. Mt. Royal Ave.

The film invites audiences to examine the political, social, and historical forces that have shaped public transportation in Baltimore and across the United States. The screening, free and open to alumni, will be followed by a conversation with the filmmaker as well as a dialogue with the audience about transportation in the city.

The conversation will be led by Dr. Jennifer Keohane, associate professor in the University’s Yale Gordon College of Arts and Sciences and director of the undergraduate program in digital communication.

Registration for the event is required. RSVP at https://involvement.ubalt.edu/CSEI/rsvp_boot?id=2136059.

Real competitive advantage happens when leaders look past generic labels and actually decode how their people tick. In her book Uncover Your One Big Message, Natsuyo Nobumoto Lipschutz introduces a practical methodology to align complex teams by blending sharp corporate strategy with structured Japanese philosophy.

Log on to the UBalt alumni learning consortium to hear about Natsuyo’s strategies during Transforming Communication Barriers into High Performance, Thursday, September 10 at 12 PM.

Hear about her method to close communication gaps, deploy facilitative leadership and balance logic and narrative in a webinar that may change the way you approach management and teamwork.

Most leaders focus on the pieces they can see: individuals, projects, and processes. But there is a silent force that determines whether a team thrives or fractures—one that few have learned to read. Just like gravity, organizational connectivity is always at work, either pulling your team together or quietly driving them apart.

In this insightful webinar, As Powerful as Gravity: Leading in a Connected World, bestselling author and leadership pioneer Jim Ferrell reveals how science and philosophy point toward "relation" as the fundamental building block of success. Drawing on decades of experience advising the world's top organizations, Jim will unpack the laws of connectivity and show you how to make this hidden force visible.

Wednesday, September 2, at 12 PM.
