One of our favorite KSDS traditions comes full circle on Graduation Day. ๐
Back in third grade, our students write letters to their future eighth-grade selves.
Today, those letters were returned by our current third graders, giving our graduates the chance to read the words they wrote years ago and reflect on how far theyโve come. For a few of our graduates, the moment was made even more special as they received their letters from a younger sibling. It was a beautiful reminder of the growth, memories, and journey that brought them to this moment๐

A big step toward middle school! ๐๐ฆ
Yesterday afternoon, our 7th graders welcomed the incoming 5th graders for a special middle school tour. They led their younger peers on a scavenger hunt, showed them around the building, and answered questions about what to expect next year.
It was a wonderful opportunity to help our future middle schoolers feel excited, confident, and welcomed. We canโt wait to see this class grow and flourish as they begin their middle school journey this fall!

Yesterday, we surprised and celebrated Morah Ann Berman alongside friends, family, alumni, past and present colleagues, and our students during minyan. One of the most meaningful moments of the morning was when Ann read a pasuk of Torah for the very first timeโan unforgettable milestone.
The celebration continued with some of her favorite things: Israeli dancing, Hebrew songs, a heartfelt alumni presentation featuring a special scrapbook filled with memories, and, of course, cake! ๐
After 37 incredible years at KSDS, Morah Berman leaves behind a legacy of dedication, warmth, and inspiration that will be felt for generations to come. She will be deeply missed, and we wish her endless joy in this exciting new chapter of retirement. We know this isnโt goodbyeโwe canโt wait to welcome her back through our halls again soon. ๐

๐ Today, our 1st and 2nd grade students came together for a special buddy activity! The 1st graders visited the 2nd grade classrooms for a sneak peek at what next year has in store. Our 2nd graders proudly shared their experiences, highlighting exciting milestones like using lockers, having classes upstairs, and all the fun that comes with being a 2nd grader. It was a wonderful opportunity for our younger students to ask questions, make connections, and get excited for the year ahead!
