The PTO at Margaret Brent Elementary Middle School

Just a reminder that today (Tuesday) May 19th at 5:45 p.m. we will hold our last PTO meeting of the year in the 26th Street Green space. We'll have the grill fired up and serve burgers and hotdogs, chips, and some drinks. Feel free to bring anything else you want to grill as well.

Our four officers plan to return to our roles next year but we can always have more people contributing. If you are interested in taking on any role or project through the PTO, please let us know. We can always use more ideas related to fundraising and organizing projects and events - anything you want to do to make Margaret Brent the best it can be.

Come out and celebrate our school and community for our FOURTH ANNUAL MAY DAY PARTY! It’s happening this SATURDAY, MAY 2nd, FROM 11 a.m. to 2 p.m AT THE MARGARET BRENT PLAYGROUND.

We’ll have a delicious spread of free food, including hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, cupcakes, and drinks!

Entertainment will be provided by HOOPLOVE, who will teach everyone how to hula hoop. There’ll also be a face painter, a mascot contest submission station, yard-sized table games, and possibly even a visit from a BCFD fire truck!

Don’t miss the chance to enter a 50/50 cash raffle (bring some cash to enter) and enjoy the door prizes.

This is a fun event for the whole family, not just students.

TONIGHT, April 30th, we will have another family fun night from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. The focus is supposed to be literacy, but Principal Smith received many requests from students asking for another painting event - so she will se about that too!

The PTO will have a table set up for a book swap. If you have gently used books that you would like to donate, please bring them and maybe you will find some new titles that you would like to take home. You can also work on your school mascot contest submission, due May 15, to Ms. Johnson, the art teacher.

Meet up tonight at Margaret Brent with Maya from 5:30 to 7:00 pm to continue cleaning up the school grounds. This a regular 4th-Thursday of the month cleanup that she hosts. Hope to see you there!

The Margaret Brent PTO is holding its Spring community cleanup day next Sunday, April 19 from 1-4 p.m. in collaboration with the Friends of 26th Street Green. We'll gather on the steps across from the basketball courts. Drinks and snacks will be provided. This a great opportunity to get together with members of the Margaret Brent community to give our school grounds some much-needed TLC!

School Open House and Next PTO meeting is Tuesday, March 17
