🚨Attention parents/guardians🚨
Do you like to know what’s going on at your child’s school? Do you like to help out and support the school? Well here’s your chance!

Please join our PTA. SPMS really relies on the support of active members in our PTA. Look for them at Back to School Night on September 2nd (at 5:30pm) and for regular communication through The Pointer Press each week! Follow them here:

A great way to support the PTA right now is to purchase a 50/50 ticket for a chance to win $5,000.00.

FYI - I was able to speak to someone in the transportation department today and they did confirm that due to a system issue, they have not been able to post bus information in Focus. They are working on getting it resolved. As soon as I know it's fixed and updated, I will post again.

So, please be patient!! We will have that info for you soon!!

A message from Principal Eiswert- in case you missed his email.

All students should arrive to school the first day with their own 2–3-inch binder (Trapper Keepers are acceptable). This binder will be used in every class, everyday to promote writing, organization, information retention, and parental communication. Parents will be asked to sign off in the binder each week to improve communication between the school and home. Attached is a link for more information on why binders will be important this year and how parents can help.

🚨6th Graders should bring the binder to early orientation day as well.🚨

Mrs. Hutchison is at it again and this time she has some special guests help her talk about her FAVORITE book of the summer so far, A Hero’s Guide to Summer Vacation. Definitely a must read! Try not to be distracted by the goofy guests and pay no attention to the spherical robot in Mrs. H’s pocket…

In case you did not receive the email from Principal Eiswert-

I hope everyone is enjoying the last few weeks of summer. We are working hard at SPMS to prepare for another awesome school year.

A few important announcements for the 2026/2027 school year:

1) Back to School Night will be held on Wednesday, September 2nd from 5:30PM- 7:30PM. This event will begin in the auditorium and parents will then visit classrooms "open house style". Parents should have access to their child's schedule in order to visit classrooms.

2) We will continue the policy of students using lockers to store their backpacks and coats. Students are to bring in their own lock to secure their possessions. We have found the best locks for our students are 4-digit locks. Here is an example- https://a.co/d/07de8X7w
Students are not allowed to use backpacks throughout the day.

3) Students will be allowed to use their phones during lunch only (no change in this policy). All personal electronics are to be kept in lockers and can only be retrieved on the way to lunch. Students are to return their electronic devices to their locker after lunch. A more detailed phone policy will be shared in the next week.

4) All students will be expected to utilize a personal binder throughout the school day. This binder should be at least 2". Trapper Keeper type binders are permittable. This binder should be transported to and from home each day. More information regarding the expectations for this binder will also be shared as we get closer to the first day of school.

5) There has been a slight adjustment to our school's bell schedule. The start and end times have not changed, just time around Advisory period and 8th grade lunch. In order to allow 8th graders to eat earlier and have a more cohesive afternoon schedule, 8th graders will share the cafeteria with the high school. They will enter and exit at different times, use a different serving line, and have their own seating section.

6) Parents and students can now see their upcoming schedule in Focus. As of tonight, specific transportation information has not been added to every student's schedule. This should occur shortly. We will notify the community when we are assured all transportation schedules are in.

Thank you as always for all the support you provide SPMS. More information will be provided soon regarding other upcoming initiatives and events. Looking forward to seeing all our 6th graders for early entry day on August 27th!!!!
