Ma’at’s Feather SPRING 2026 Co-Managing editor, Dana Marshall, interviewed Baltimore Banner journalist, Leslie Gray Streeter. Streeter, a widow, mom, and Baltimore native writes articles about almost everything centric to Baltimore. She is the author of three books, her memoir, Black Widow (2021), and two fiction novels, Family & Other Calamities (2025), and Beignets and Big Feelings, yet to be released. We are pleased to announce the CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS for our inaugural issue of Ma'at's Feather, presented by the Coppin State University English program's chapter of Sigma Tau Delta.

You got two weeks to get ready! This is a writers open mic! What that means is the work you perform needs to be work you wrote! Poets, comedians, singer/songwriters, etc. welcome!

Faculty advisors Dr. Khadijah Ali-Coleman, Ms. LaTrice Curtis-Istance, Dr. Uchechi Okereke-Beshel and Dr. Blessing Ogamba were thrilled to have met with the ten students who participated in our inaugural meeting today!

Great time last Thursday at the Coppin State University Clubs and Organization Cook-out! We passed out flyers and had students sign up for our new writing club, Ma’at’s Feather!
