🎉 Hooray for Home Days! 🎉
Recently, two of our patients, Taj and Darrell, were able to head home with their families after receiving care at both Johns Hopkins Children's Center and MWPH.

We’re honored to have been part of their journeys and are grateful for the opportunity to support them along the way. Wishing Taj and Darrell all the best as they begin this exciting new chapter at home!

💡 Did You Know?
Donor human milk can provide important health and nutritional benefits for premature and medically fragile infants when a parent’s own milk is unavailable.
MWPH is proud to offer a donor human milk program for patient families, helping ensure babies have access to the specialized nutrition they need during their healing journey. 🍼❤️

Thanks to Spirit of Children funding, we recently installed a calming mural in the Day Treatment Program nurse’s room to help create a more welcoming, therapeutic environment for patients and families.
Designed with soothing colors and interactive “I Spy” elements, the mural supports comfort, distraction, and engagement for children in our Feeding Day and Rehab Day programs who may experience anxiety in medical settings.
Special thanks to Erin Jasper, Child Life Specialist, for envisioning and coordinating this project with artist Paige Orpin, whose extraordinary work brought the space to life. We’re also grateful to Spirit of Children for their continued support!

Congratulations to Kristina Castro Wolfsheimer for her recent IRIS Award recognition!
Kristina is an exceptional physical therapist whose collaboration, adaptability, and dedication make a lasting impact on patients, families, and colleagues alike.
As one of the few Schroth therapists in the area, she brings a unique skillset to our rehab team while consistently going above and beyond to support patients and staff across multiple care areas. Her professionalism, teamwork, and compassionate approach make her truly deserving of this honor.

Home days are the best days!
Recently, one of our patients got to go home! After spending time at GBMC - Greater Baltimore Medical Center and continuing her journey with us at MWPH, sweet Nyx was finally able to head home with her family last week.
Moments like these are why we do what we do, and we couldn’t be happier for Nyx and her loved ones as they begin this next chapter together. 💜

May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month, recognizing the vital role speech-language pathologists play in pediatric care. At MWPH, SLPs are essential members of the multidisciplinary team, providing expert care across inpatient and outpatient settings while supporting children with communication, feeding, and swallowing needs.

Becoming a pediatric SLP requires extensive education, clinical training, certification, and licensure — reflecting the expertise behind the compassionate care they provide every day.

We’re also proud to celebrate our newest SLPs, Skylar Cho and Julia Schroeder, who recently completed their clinical fellowships and earned their full certification! Congratulations!
