It’s been so great having Middle and Upper Schoolers on campus for orientation! 📚👋 Students spent the last two days making new connections, learning about Park’s philosophy, meeting advisors, signing up for clubs at the activities fair, exploring the campus, and so much more. We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow for the first day of school!

This summer, Park faculty pursued a range of projects supported by our Summer Faculty and Curricular Advancement program (FACA). This innovative program for professional development provides teachers time and funding for intensive study that directly benefits Park students. Faculty work collaboratively, draw on the expertise of outside professionals, read, research, write, and discuss.

This year’s projects included Supercharging Student Engagement, Critical Reading and Writing Strategies in the Humanities, 7th Grade Activist Projects, Instrumental Proficiency, Brain Science, Mechanical Engineering and Physics Integration, and more. The impact of these projects is evident in our expansive, stimulating, and rigorous curriculum — we can’t wait to see it all in action next week.

The Park School of Baltimore and the Bel-Air Edison School Middle Grades Partnership (MGP) program completed another great summer! This program brings together students, teachers, and leaders from both school communities to share in common experiences and build relationships with middle school peers.

This year, students embraced the theme of “Create! Innovate! Elevate! Your Ideas Matter!” through classes including STEM, Ceramics, Music, L.E.A.D.S. (Leadership, Equity, Advocacy, Diversity and Service), and more. Beyond the classroom, students headed to M&T Bank Stadium, went water tubing in Gunpowder State Park, conquered the Park School Challenge Course, and soaked up the sun at Hammerman Beach. It was a wonderful summer of learning, friendship, and fun!
