Celeebrate Us Workforce Training is dedicating the month of June to uplifting, encouraging and edifying some beautiful men. My 1st June event takes place tomorrow at the Dorsey Run Correctional Facility in Jessup Maryland. I am absolutely delighted to be reunited with some wonderful colleagues from the DOL's Reentry Unit and members of the Talent Acquisition Team from Luminis Health. Special shout out to Ms. Ellen Bredt for inviting me to join her team with conducting mock interviews. What a blessing to contribute to the career journey of 9 young men preparing to return to the community following their incarceration. On this day back in 2024 I joined Ellen, Troy and Jamal for mock interviews for the beautiful women of MCIW.

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!!!! One of my favorite parts of my role here at Celeebrate Us Workforce Training is to learn which companies are committed to the personal and professional development of their workforce. Three years ago, I was absolutely delighted to have lunch with the Global VP of Human Resources Shelia Muhl from the McCormick Spice company. McCormick is an amazing company. They have an outstanding internal LGBT friendly organization called McCormick Prism. I attended a beautiful McCormick Prism Pride event at their Hunt Valley Headquarters that was out of this world. I got an amazing up close and personal view of how supportive, welcoming and committed this company is to the development and professional growth of the beautiful LGBT community.

Beginning tomorrow June 1st up until Father's Day. I will be showing love to the beautiful "MIGHTY MEN" of my program . This weekend I decided to get things started with sharing some of my favorite moments. My job at Celeebrate Us Workforce Training is fun, inspiring and very very serious. I am acutely aware that students and parents come to my program to improve their professional lives so that they can improve the way of life for their families. This is why my partnerships with employers, education institutions and non profit organizations are mission critical to my students success. This leads me to my beautiful graduate Jeriel Muhammad who enrolled into my program back in 2021 as a CNA/GNA. He joined me and his classmates at Howard Community College LPN Open House. Thanks to my amazing partnership with Howard Community College Jeriel left my program as an RN. I was delighted when he invited me to his Pinning Ceremony and graduation. I was brought to tears when Jeriel received a standing ovation at his Pinning Ceremony. Thank you Jeriel for trusting me with your career. I am beyond grateful.

Father's Day is June 21st. All month long beginning tomorrow I will be celebrating some outstanding "MIGHTY MEN" of Celeebrate Us Workforce Training some who are also dads. This weekend I am showcasing and highlighting a few of those amazing dads. Meet Deon. Becoming a father for the 1st time really inspired him. One of the most popular features of my program is the Friday "random act of kindness". This was Deon's favorite part of my class. One July evening back in 2020, I received a call from Deon asking me if I would like to donate to his feed the homeless campaign. He and his friends purchased food items and worked through the night preparing sandwiches, bottled water and snacks. This made my heart smile soooooo big. Kudos to Deon and his comrades.

As I continue this weekend to showcase some "MIGHTY MEN" of Celeebrate Us Workforce Training, here is a great example of my learning module called "MORE than GRADES". Meet Tyree Gaskin, sent to me by his beautiful mom and my childhood friend Cassandra Gaskin. I teach my students that good grades are important, however grades are only part of the story. My students learn that character, attitude, self-awareness and kindness completes the story. One of my favorite moments from this beautiful young man was how intentional he was to make sure that during lunch time, every student had something to eat. His awareness and concern for others came directly out of his beautiful mom's playbook. You see Tyree was a child of privilege. Instead of focusing on himself, he used his privilege to show kindness, compassion and empathy towards his classmates. Way to go Tyree!!!!!!

June 1st is Monday. All month long I am going to be showcasing and celebrating some wonderful Celeebrate Us Workforce Training "MIGHTY MEN". The entire month of June will include activities, special promotions and some heartfelt stories of these wonderful men. This weekend, I am sharing some special moments with some very special men. Up first are some young men who were sent to me by their beautiful moms. The "mother and son" phenomenon needs to be studied LOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣😆😂🤣🤣. Meet Robert, an Information Technician student from 2020. Robert's mom was fed up. Every job Robert had tapped into and benefitted from his pristine computer skills, but never paid him properly. His beautiful mom found me on IG and signed him up. Thanks to my amazing partners at Baltimore City Community College, Robert received a Cyber Warrior Scholarship. Robert's mom called me and thanked me. She was absolutely delighted that Robert got the proper certifications to enhance his earning capacity. WOO HOO mom!!!!!!

Don't ever be ashamed of being in a DSS work program. I've been in work programs all of my life. College is a version of a work program because both entities are designed for self improvement and self sufficiency.
F.Y I.college is just like a DSS Work Program; if you don't finish, you won't receive your benefits.

Happy National Foster Care Awareness Month. God has blessed me to end this month with a wonderful new opportunity to provide workforce training services to some foster youth who will be aging out of care in 2027 and entering independent living. I was so full of gratitude and praise to God that I started reflecting on my career. My thoughts took me back to this day in 2015. This is me signing my very 1st contract with the beautiful Ms. Carr. I thank God for her beautiful boss at the time Eli Eli who took a chance on me with no experience, no partnerships, and no resources. Back then, I didn't even have a name for my business. I don't know what you saw in me back then Mr. E but just know that I am continuing to make you proud. Thank you God for saving a wretch like me.
