The Community Advisory Board (CAB) is crucial in the development of successful clinical trials. The CAB has three main goals:

CAB members take research and treatment information to their community and relay community concerns to researchers. At the Johns Hopkins University AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG), the CAB also acts as liaisons to the community in order to educate people about participation in clinical trials. The CAB may also choose to organize educational events for the community focusing on raising awareness
