Positive staff–resident interactions are linked to better experiences in dementia care for everyone involved.

Researchers at the University of Maryland School of Nursing are testing a four-step approach to help assisted living staff change how they interact with residents living with dementia.

By increasing positive interactions, the intervention aims to improve resident well-being and reduce behavioral symptoms, while also supporting caregiver job satisfaction and helping reduce burnout.
