A few of the GAMA kids represented Team Balance Baltimore today at Controlled Combat ! We had a great time, and the tournament is very well run, with exceptional reffing.

Zion Sherman took any division he could get, without regard to age or weight and he placed 1st in gi and 3rd in nogi. He had a ton of matches and kept a smile on his face the whole time, as usual.

Eli had a couple of divisions, some great takedowns and showed great improvement in his jiu jitsu, and taking home a silver medal

AJ competed in two divisions and showed so much heart and used what he knew… wrestling! He was able to stay determined from start to finish taking home a couple of gold medals.

The purpose of these tournaments for the little kids is to see what they know, see what they do well, and figure out what they need to work on. But the most important thing about jiu jitsu at this age, is that they are having fun. Good, clean, fun matches, and that’s what Controlled Combat provided today!

Thanks to all of the parents for their support, and the extra friends and family who came out to support us!
