MARIBETH LANE, TCGC’s immediate past president and winner of Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland’s District 1 Perennial Bloom Award for 2025, has been selected from among Maryland’s five Federated District Perennial Bloom awardees to represent our state at the regional level. At the October meeting of the National Garden Club – Central Atlantic Region of State Garden Clubs, Maribeth will compete with six other state representatives (from DC, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania) for regional honors.

The Perennial Bloom Award is a prestigious honor given to long-time members of garden clubs who show continuous support and leadership, essentially serving as the "backbone" of their organizations. Recipients are like a garden’s faithful perennials, helping their clubs grow through years of distinguished service.

The District 1 award led to installation of Maribeth’s favorite tree along the Rail Trail Extension in Easton earlier this spring.
