BACWIM is preparing for our next Prayer Gathering. This month, our focus is prayer for men and we have asked our Brothers in Christ Rev. Erik Medlin, Rev. Melech Thomas and Rev. Cornelius Hubbard to intercede on behalf of Fathers, New graduates and Young men.

Our June Prayer Gathering will take place TOMORROW, Saturday, June 13th, from 9:00am-9:30am, on Zoom. Please join us and share this link with the men in your churches, your husbands, sons, all of the men and young men in your networks and let them know that the men are praying for them.

The Connectional AME Women in Ministry has announced the 2026 JARENA LEE HONOREES. The award is named in honor of the groundbreaking Rev. Jarena Lee—the first authorized female preacher in the African Methodist Episcopal Church—this award recognizes extraordinary women who walk in her historic footsteps. These faith leaders, advocates, and trailblazers have demonstrated exceptional courage, powerful ministry, and an unwavering commitment to social justice and community uplifting.

Rev. Dr. Jo Ann Browning is one of the recipients, as is our very own Rev. Dr. Katurah York Cooper who is receiving the award posthumously.

The Maryland Primary Election Early Voting begins today. Too much is at stake for us to sit this election out! Early voting will be from Thursday, June 11th-Thursday, June 18th. Polls are open from 7:00am-8:00pm.

BACWIM members gathered at Saint John AME Church yesterday to celebrate Pastor Brandon McAfee's 42nd birthday (his "Jackie Robinson" year).

In attendance were Rev. Angela Bullock, Rev. Angelique Mason, Rev. Brittany McCoy, Rev. Wilistine Dargan, Rev. Bess McAllister, and Rev. Candance Greene (not pictured). Also joining the festivities for Rev. McAfee were Rev. Melech Thomas, Rev. Batty, and Rev. Michael Hudson, Sr.

Rev. Pamela Ashanti-Griggs and the congregation at Stevenson AMEC-Sparks wore orange during service yesterday in solidarity of Maryland Gun Violence and Prevention Awareness!
