Every year, there is a Spring Awards Ceremony to recognize members of the faculty, staff, and student body who have gone above and beyond in their dedication and commitment to our school and students. The recipients of the SBA awards are nominated and voted on by the student body.

Voting will take place from 8:00am Wednesday, April 14th through 5:00pm Thursday, April 15th; a link to vote on the top nominations will be sent out then. The descriptions for each award are included beneath each category name.

Nomination Guidelines:
1. Students may only nominate one student or staff member per category.
2. SBA General Assembly members may NOT be nominated for their work in their SBA capacity. They may be nominated for their work as a member or leader of another organization. They may also be nominated for their individual academic excellence, networking, competitive achievement and/or substantial impact on the school or students.
3. The SBA is not eligible to win the Outstanding Service by a Student Organization Award.
4. Nominations must be received by 5:00pm on Monday, April 12th to be considered.

WHO: All UB Law Students, Staff and Faculty are welcome. Dogs are permitted but must be leashed at all times.

WHAT: We will break into two groups: one of walkers and one of runners. The runners will run a flat 3 mile route and the walkers will follow that same route but only go about 1.5 miles.

WHY: Fresh air is good for you. Enjoy some time outside and bond with your fellow students away from the endless hours we spend on Zoom.

During this Town Hall, students will be given a chance to meet the SBA candidates running, learn more about their platforms, and listen to them address questions/concerns presented by students. Please find a list of the SBA 2021-2022 candidates and Zoom invitation below.

SBA will be accepting questions from students via email for the candidates PRIOR to the townhall. Questions must be submitted by TODAY @ 5:00pm to the SBA email: [email protected]. (*Please be respectful and appropriate in your choice of questions. All questions will be reviewed by the Election Committee prior to the townhall.)

Both journals will share information about the upcoming Write-On Competition and how you can submit a Write-On package to be selected as a Staff Editor on Law Forum or Law Review next year.
