Due to Coppin State University’s Graduation, Coppin Academy students will participate in virtual learning on Friday, May 22. This is NOT an off day. Students are expected to connect with their teachers via Canvas & Zoom and remain engaged throughout the day.

Due to inclement weather, Coppin State University (CSU) will be closed tomorrow. As a result, Coppin Academy will be closed and will operate on a virtual learning schedule on Monday, Feb. 23rd.

All students are expected to follow the virtual learning schedule and log in to their classes. Additionally, they are to actively participate in instruction. Teachers will provide access to lessons, virtual links, and assignments through Canvas.

Please ensure that your child has access to their device and charger this evening so they are prepared for virtual learning tomorrow.

If you have any questions or experience technical difficulties, please contact their dean or administrator.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and collaboration during this week’s school closures and transition to virtual learning. We are deeply grateful for the dedication of our team — especially our essential personnel including principals, custodians and operations staff—for their tireless work preparing our facilities to open. Because of their hard work, and absent any additional inclement weather emergencies, City Schools will open on Monday, February 2, 2026.

Dress for the weather, build in extra travel time, and use caution while commuting, as snow and ice may remain in some areas.

Yellow bus service may be delayed on Monday, February 2, 2026 due to snow and icy road conditions, particularly on smaller side streets.

The safety of our students and drivers is our top priority. Routes will be adjusted as needed based on road conditions, and families will be individually notified in the case of any changes.

MTA bus transportation may experience delays as well. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this prolonged period of inclement weather.
