Dear Midtown Academy Families,
As promised, our Summer Bridge Workbooks have arrived! We are excited to provide every Midtown scholar in Grades 1–7 with this valuable summer learning resource.
I would also like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Roger Hughes, our Grades 3–5 Math teacher, for connecting Midtown Academy with Robert St. Cyr, Executive Director of Community Scholar, a Washington, D.C./Baltimore-based nonprofit organization dedicated to grassroots and community engagement that helps raise student achievement and academic success.
We are excited to begin partnering with Mr. St. Cyr as we explore the possibility of bringing afterschool tutoring opportunities to Midtown Academy this fall. This partnership has the potential to provide additional academic support for our scholars, and we look forward to sharing more information in the coming months.
We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Marwan Abu Fadel, Community Scholar's organizational partner, whose generous support made it possible for every Midtown Academy student in Grades 1–7 to receive a Summer Bridge Workbook at no cost to our families.
These workbooks are an outstanding resource designed to reinforce essential reading, writing, and math skills throughout the summer, helping students maintain their learning and reduce summer learning loss while preparing for a successful start to the new school year.
