Learning something new is hard!!
Learning an instrument is a multi-faceted journey that involves a lot more than learning how to hold it and make sound! Some days, you’re on top of the world and everything is “clicking” and sounding the best it ever has! Other days, you have to take a break every five minutes so you don’t toss your instrument across the room.
We have all been there- no matter if you are a professional, well-seasoned musician, or just starting!
Being the best you can be looks different everyday, especially when learning something new! That’s why kindness from your peers, your teachers, and yourself MATTERS! Forming good habits and saying nice things creates a positive learning environment where we aren’t scared to make mistakes- because after all, where you make mistakes is where you learn!
If you don’t treat yourself nicely and those around you with care, you are helping create a negative environment where negativity is easily associated with playing music.
