Congratulations to Sofia Grant, PhD student in History of Medicine, for receiving a 2026 Michael E. DeBakey fellowship from the National Library of Medicine! Sofia will be conducting research for her project “Diagnosing Uncertainty: Non-Specificity, Uncertain Knowledge, and the Management of Autoimmune Diseases Between the Laboratory and the Clinic” as part of her dissertation research on twentieth-century American biomedicine. https://www.nlm.nih.gov/hmd/get-involved/debakey-fellowship.html

Congrats to Alumnus Alex Parry and former postdocs Christy Slobogin and Iro Filippaki on publishing their research agenda on injury studies open-access with the Journal of Medical Humanities! The piece came out of the Rethinking Injuries conference held in Baltimore in March 2024 and is part of their continuing work with the Injury Studies Network. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10912-026-10009-6
