Through the incredible generosity of Olivia Rodrigo, Daisy Chain Fields and Melinda French Gates, $2 million will come to the Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health to help sustain and grow programs serving Indigenous mothers, women, children and families at a time of deep uncertainty in federal funding.
 
We’re so grateful for the opportunity to share our mission with tens of thousands of people. At our booth in the Daisy Chain Reaction Philanthropy Village, we created a space rooted in Indigenous traditions, weaving together storytelling, art, culture, wellness and connection. We were moved by the genuine curiosity, kindness and support shared by the visitors. 💞🫂
 
We’re proud of the way we represented Indigenous Peoples: from our booth to the Marigold and Dandelion stages, where the CIH name was displayed front and center. Seeing CIH Co-Director Melissa Walls and Communications Director Crystal Austin introduce Santigold on the main stage was a moment we’ll never forget! 🥹
 
Most of all, we leave inspired by a community that showed us what solidarity, joy and hope can look like. Thank you to everyone who attended, waited in line to visit our booth, and connected to this beautiful and growing Daisy Chain. 💗
 
We’ll carry the joy, optimism and inspiration from everyone involved into our work. 🌼

Today we honor the legacy of Gloria Steinem (1934-2026), a tireless champion of women’s equality. Gloria was an investigative journalist, co-founder of Ms. Magazine - the first magazine to be run by all women - and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Honor from President Barack Obama for her feminist civil rights advocacy.

Coincidentally, Ms. Magazine featured us this week as part of their coverage of the Daisy Chain Festival, alongside 9 other phenomenal organizations dedicated to the rights and wellbeing of women and girls. We couldn't be prouder to be associated with the Daisy Chain Fields festival. The $20M raised, thanks to the generosity of Olivia Rodrigo and Melinda French Gates, is unbelievable. We are floating from the experience, but once our feet hit the ground, we'll be sure to share our thoughts along with some fabulous photos. 🫶 🌼

You may remember listening to Dolly Parton on the radio, but her voice reached far beyond music. ✨

She was a true champion of literacy, early childhood, women, health, economic mobility, research, and the arts.

Her father's frustration at never learning to read inspired the Imagination Library, which has gifted more than 300 million books to children worldwide. Dolly showed us what values-based leadership looks like: using your gifts and channeling resources toward the collective good.

Witty, smart, generous, and a skilled negotiator, she reminded us: "Find out who you are and do it on purpose".
