❤️Sundays are for Family❤️
Earlier this month, Hermanas came together in northern Delaware to celebrate Hermana Venorā’s birthday! From Hermanas that live around the corner to Hermanas that traveled all the way from New York, we always make sure to be there for one another on these special occasions. Spending time with our chosen family nurtures the hermandad between us so much and we’re so grateful for these small moments 🫶🫂
More Hermandad roadtrips are coming veryyy soon, so stay tuned 👀

🦋Monarca Monday 🦋
This week’s quote reminds us that raising our voices—especially when it’s uncomfortable—is a form of justice. 💪🏽
This photo was taken at the Hands Off protest in Washington, D.C. earlier this year, where students, workers, and advocates from across the country gathered to oppose attacks on education, research, and basic rights.
In this image, two of our Hermanas stand in front of the Washington Monument holding signs that read:
“Protect Our Students” and “Save the NIH, Save Research.” Their message was clear: our futures are under threat, and staying silent is not an option.
✊🏽🦋 We march, we organize, and we speak up—for our gente, for our education, and for the generations after us. Let’s keep shaking the table.

🇦🇷 Feliz Día de la Independencia Argentina!
Join us in celebrating July 9th as the anniversary of Argentina’s Independence from Spain in 1816. We take this moment to recognize and celebrate a milestone in Latino history. On this day in 1816, in the city of Tucumán, the break with Spanish colonial rule was officially proclaimed. This event is now a celebrated step in the struggle of the Argentine people for freedom.
Per our mission, Our Hermandad is further advanced by our shared dedication and promotion of public service and cultural awareness, with an emphasis on Latino history, contributions, and experiences.
Feliz Día de la Independencia! 🎉🌟🦋

🦋Introducing Monarca Mondays 🦋
Each week, we’ll be sharing words that inspire strength, sisterhood, and transformation❤️💛🖤🤍.
Starting with this quote from Oprah Winfrey to remind us: true friendship isn’t about who shows up when it’s easy—it’s about who stays when things get tough.
Tag someone who rides the bus with you🥰

Official Statement from Las Hermanas 📣
Friday, July 4th, 2025
We are Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad / Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Incorporated. We proudly and firmly stand on the legacy of our Founders and our unwavering commitment to La Comunidad, La Cultura Latina, y La Hermandad.
In lieu of a celebratory holiday post, we encourage you to join in us in reflecting, not rejoicing.
We understand activism takes many forms. In delivering this statement, highlighting our rights, and spotlighting these accessible community resources, we hope to remind everyone every effort matters.
We would like to thank Hermana Nat’yadesa, Betsybell Sánchez from the Alpha Delta Chapter, SPR’23, & our very own Sigma Chapter President Hermana Rrieñacu, Amy Pérez, SPR’23 for this initiative. We also thank our Regionals and Nationals for their continued support and guidance.
We call on all our Hermanas, our communities, and our allies to continue engaging in critical dialogue, community care, and collective action.
Together, we resist. Together, we rise.

Academic Excellence 🧠🗣️
✨ Las Hermanas de Sigma are so proud of our Undergraduate Hermanas who were honored and recognized on the Dean’s List.
⭐️ To earn Dean’s List, a student must be enrolled with at least 12 credits and obtain at least a 3.5 GPA for the academic semester.
✨ This Spring 2025, we are honored to announce our two Hermanas earned their spot on the Dean’s List.
🦋 Hermanas, we are SO proud of you! On top of being student leaders, work, family expectations, and your other responsibilities, you’ve managed to not only fulfill your academic responsibilities, but thrive in them. Special shoutout our recent graduate and newest Alumna, Hermana Marñakito for ending on a strong note! 🥳

Today we reflect on the hard-fought freedom of Black Americans and remember that we must continue to fight for justice. We hope you will join us in reflecting on such powerful history that serves as a testament to the impact and change that comes from resisting immorality from the highest levels of government. ❤️🖤💚
