Yesterday, BLSA members had the honor of attending the Honorable Mabel Houze Hubbard Legacy Luncheon

We were proud to celebrate this year’s 2026 Legacy Honoree, The Honorable Lynn Stewart Mays, whose impact has touched and shaped so many within the legal community.

A special congratulations to UBalt BLSA’s own Iman Williams on receiving the 2026 Book Scholarship. We are incredibly proud of all you’ve accomplished 🎉

It was a wonderful celebration of legacy, excellence, and community. Thank you to the Alliance of Black Women Attorneys for all that you do to uplift and inspire.

Close out the semester tomorrow with BLSA! We’re partnering with the Health Law Society and LALSA to host an insightful panel on careers in health law. Hear directly from experienced practitioners about what it takes to succeed in the field and the paths they’ve taken to get there.

We’re excited to welcome back UBalt BLSA alumnus Jermaine Haughton, along with Rhonda Scott and Jeneen Burrell!

This weekend BLSA hosted its 1st Annual Recognition Ceremony to celebrate the prestigious honors and charitable work of our members. Together we are increasing the number of Black attorneys to 7%, a historic endeavor.

Join us this Tuesday from 12-1:30 in room 608 for our Pre-Law Panel. Get the opportunity to hear from current students about their journey to law school! They’ll be sharing what worked for them and we’ll have additional resources for prospective students. You don’t want to miss it!

Immigration Enforcement and the Clinic: Moderated Discussion with Medical & Law Students

Tomorrow, Saturday April 11, at 2pm in Room 202
Please join us for a moderated discussion on caring for patients in the context of immigration enforcement. Bring your questions on how to navigate the current legal landscape in the healthcare setting, key distinctions between civil and criminal custody, the authority immigration enforcement does and does not have, and more. Providers and patients have legal rights. In this discussion, we will learn how to assert them.
