It is the last day of De-Stress Week Spring 2026! Check out all of our events happening today.
04/30/2026
It is day 4 of Spring 2026 De-Stress Week! We have three events happening today:
Campus Community Plant Swap
11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Cohen Plaza
Celebrate Earth Day with MICA’s first-ever campus-wide Plant Swap, open to the entire MICA community, including students, staff, and faculty, as part of the Bicentennial year. Originally created by the Staff Empowerment Council, this tradition is being shared with the student community for the first time.
Bring a plant you no longer have space for or share cuttings from your collection. New to plant care? No problem! Beginner-friendly cuttings will be available to help you start your plant journey.
All are encouraged to contribute houseplants, native plants, herbs, or vegetables. There will be something for every kind of living space.
Studies show that being around plants can reduce stress, boost mood, and improve focus, making them a perfect addition to your study space or dorm room. Whether you’re deep in finals or just need a moment of calm, a little plant baby to care for goes a long way.
Hosted by MICA Staff
Smash Bros Night
5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Glace Hall Basement
Over the stress of finals? Exhausted from creating? Desperate to interact with others outside the studio? Then join MICA Start in a casual Smash Bros Night! Play as your favorite characters, meet your fellow smash players, enjoy some snacks, and (most importantly) relax! All levels of experience and play styles are welcomed.
Hosted by MICA Start
Annual BSU Cookout
6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Cohen Plaza
The Black Student Union invites you to soak up the sun and celebrate the season at our annual summer cookout! Come spend an afternoon filled with laughter, great music, and tasty food from local Baltimore vendors. Relax under the warm summer sky with fellow students, vibe to feel-good music, and enjoy a welcoming space to connect, unwind, and make memories. All are welcome, so bring your friends, your appetite, and your best summer energy!
Hosted by Black Student Union .bsu and the Office of the President

It is day 3 of Spring 2026 De-Stress Week! We have two events happening today:
Bunnies & Brownies
2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
LOCATION CHANGED DUE TO WEATHER - Brown Center Lobby
MICA’s campus is having some special visitors! Come meet our guests of honor, four cute bunnies. Come give them as many pets and cuddles as you can, grab a cookie or a brownie, and join our raffle for a bunny plushie!
Hosted by Student Engagement
Read & Rest
3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Brown Center Lobby
The Book Nook Collective presents the Read & Rest event. We will offer a welcoming table space during De-Stress Week for students and readers to pause and unwind. The table will feature bookish activity sheets, stickers, bookmarks, annotation supplies, and more. Our main attraction will be a ‘blind date with a book’ experience where students can choose a mystery read based on hints. Sweet treats like gummy “book worms” and other candy will also be available. The table will be designed as a quiet break from academic stress and to increase our book club attendance. We want to provide comfort and build connections within the MICA reading community.
