March is National Social Work Month, recognizing the dedication and empathy of social workers across the country. “Social workers are advocates, advisors, counselors, and facilitators in schools, clinics, businesses, and government offices who provide a voice for equal rights for the weakest of us and connect us to resources when we are in need.”

With qualities like this, its no surprise that our friends and colleagues from the School of Social Work were among the first faculty to visit the UMBC Academic Success Center, chat with our student team and take a tour of the newly renovated space so they could become fully knowledgeable of the resources when providing care! 😍

This month-long observance is an opportunity to learn more about social work careers and how social workers provide a vital service to every community.

The Academic Success Center (ASC) space in the Library will re-open for face-to-face services on Monday, March 4th, 2024, once construction is complete. Until then, please note that ALL academic support services provided by the ASC are still available to students.
