Music With Mrs. Tanenblatt

Shout out to the little church on the hill! For the past year I've been singing at Immanuel Episcopal Church in Glencoe and it's so picturesque. This time of year I get to rehearsal just as the sun is going down and it's just a dream ❤️

9 months out of the classroom, I'm finally feeling healed enough to start going through the bags of teaching materials I brought home and stashed in my basement.

Not going to lie: holding this brought on a whole wave of residual anxiety from pandemic teaching. I'm selling and donating a lot of old teaching materials, but I'm looking forward to tossing this one in the trash! 🗑️

I am not the reason why this counter is always at zero. 🤣

Well friends and followers, it's time for a pretty big life update...

This might seem like it's coming from out of the blue, but I've decided to leave my teaching job 😱🤯

Rest assured that I will continue to create meaningful content for music educators... It just won't be coming from within a classroom! 😁 I'm thrilled about taking this leap and I hope you'll stick with me for the ride!

The many adventures of Forte the Tiger! 😂🐯

The background: I usually start my kindergarten lessons with this puppet, Forte. But every now and then I'll pull out a different puppet that goes with the theme of the lesson. Then the kids inevitably ask me "where's Forte?" to which I usually respond, "he's on vacation!"

So a few weeks ago I decided to have some fun with the idea of him actually going on vacation... We sang "kitty cat, kitty cat, where have you been?" and they saw all the great landmarks he visited.

This barbie is a music teacher. She's overworked and probably underpaid, but she loves sharing music with her students 💕

Oh man, I missed Maryland day 😂 ours is the only state I know where people willingly wear their bizarre state flag on clothing and jewelry!!!
