On June 19, 1865, the final enforcement of emancipation reached enslaved African Americans in Texas, marking a pivotal moment in our nation’s history. Juneteenth serves as a reminder that freedom is not merely a destination—it is a continuous commitment to justice, equity, education, and progress. As men of Iota, we recognize the importance of preserving our history, uplifting our communities, and continuing the work of those who came before us.

Their struggle, perseverance, and triumph inspire us to build a stronger future for generations to come.

This important conversation will focus on two issues that directly impact our communities: civic engagement and men’s mental health awareness.

As we approach a critical election season, it is essential that we remain informed, engaged, and committed to exercising our right to vote. We will discuss the importance of voter education, civic responsibility, and the collective efforts being made to empower communities across the country.

We will also address the growing importance of men’s mental health, encouraging open dialogue, access to support, and the understanding that mental wellness is a vital part of leadership, family, and community success.

This month, we would also like to celebrate the voices, visionaries, and pioneers whose music has shaped culture, inspired movements, and left an undeniable mark on history.

As we honor African American Music Appreciation Month, we also recognize one of our own — Most Honorable Founder Webster Lewis - whose contributions to music, education, and the arts exemplified the excellence and achievement that define lota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. 🌟

From jazz and gospel to soul, hip-hop, R&B, and beyond, African American music continues to unite communities, tell our stories, and inspire our very own generations.

Mental health is a conversation that deserves a seat at every table.

This month, we encourage all Men to prioritize their mental well-being and remember that strength is not measured by silence. Real strength is found in speaking up, seeking support, and taking care of yourself physically, emotionally, and mentally.
