On September 24, 1827, the magic began at the first House of Mercy on Baggot Street in Dublin, Ireland! Together, with Mercy ministries around the globe, we celebrate the 199th anniversary of the House of Mercy on "Mercy Day." Join with us in these intercessions, modified from "Morning & Evening Prayer" used by the Sisters of Mercy, as we recommit ourselves to Catherine McAuley's mission and vision.

The House of Mercy was established to serve those in need. 𝘔𝘢𝘺 𝘸𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴.

Catherine McAuley was assisted in her ministry by many who were animated by her vision of service. 𝘉𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘺, 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘸𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭.

Like Catherine, we have established ministries to address our enduring mission. 𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘸𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘴.

Those who came to the House of Mercy experienced respect and hospitality. 𝘔𝘢𝘺 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘺 𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦.
