Marc Lapadula, talented longtime Senior Lecturer in screenwriting at Johns Hopkins, passed away on August 9th, 2022. Johns Hopkins Film and Media Studies mourns his loss. We invite our students to learn more about his work as a teacher and writer by reading this short profile in The Hub. We also welcome his former students to post a message on this post with a memory of Marc, in appreciation of what he taught them. He will be deeply missed at Johns Hopkins, and his contribution to film culture as a teacher and mentor will be felt for years to come.

Happy Monday! Each week, Film and Media Studies will highlight one of our ongoing Spring Courses for everyone to learn more about the classes that JHU FMS offers. This week, we're spotlighting Dr. Meredith Ward's "Introduction to Cinema II: 1941-Present" course.
π Watch and analyze films such as Raging Bull, Psycho, and No Country for Old Men throughout the semester.
π Learn the fundamentals of how to read films through aesthetic, cultural, and political critical lenses.
π Keep an eye out during Fall registration for Part I of the course, "Introduction to Cinema I: 1892-1941!"
