The Guyana Global Health Trip was one for the books!! Dr. Schneider has been taking residents to Guyana for many years and developed amazing relationships with the Guyanese people. 6 peds residents and 1 EM resident from Hopkins had the opportunity to go on this global health trip. They saw children in the orphanages of Georgetown before going to the interior of Guyana to work in clinics. There were many patients seen and many coconuts drank!

In memory of Alyssa on her birthday, join us in collecting books for Alyssa’s Reading Corner.
Our goal is to provide books to all children at their well child visits from ages 0-5 years old. Books are the key to language!
Donations will be collected through April 29th.

Today our residents and medical students had the opportunity to advocate for children and families at the Maryland American Academy of Pediatrics Resident Advocacy Day 2026 in Annapolis!
We spent the day meeting with state legislators and discussing policies that directly impact child health, including Medicaid access, school nutrition programs, and vaccine protections. Advocacy is an essential part of pediatrics — ensuring that the voices of children, families, and the providers who care for them are heard where decisions are made.
