Our Gents a part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters at The Y program took a field trip to the The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore for a day filled with learning, exploration, and fun 🦩

Our Gents had the opportunity to visit University of Maryland, College Park where college students led us on a tour of the campus, shared insight on student life and academic offerings, and answered questions about the college experience. We wrapped up the visit with a delicious buffet-style lunch in the dining hall. Experiences like these continue to open our students’ minds to future possibilities and life after high school. 🎓🙌🏾

For the second year in a row, our students had the opportunity to tour the Atlas Restaurant Group with Head Chef Chef Taylor inside the Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore. He shared insight on his journey as a chef, the restaurant industry, and dropped valuable gems our students can carry with them moving forward. We wrapped up the experience at Maximón where we were blessed with several different plates, including ceviche and raw oysters prepared by Chef Taylor himself. Grateful for opportunities like this that continue to expose our youth to new experiences and career paths. 🙏🏾🍽️

During Black History Month, our 4th Grade Gents had the pleasure of going to the Baltimore Museum of Art several times to explore many exhibits including the Amy Sherald exhibit that was sold out. They also analyzed different artists and their pieces of art 🖼️

Back in February we took our Gents to Savage Mill to create charcuterie boards and candles. After, we treated them to some pizza 😎
