On behalf of the Women’s Pre-Release Equity Coalition, we would like to say THANK YOU to the Maryland General Assembly for securing the funding for Phase One of this project and making the needs of Maryland’s incarcerated women a priority!

The MD Senate has secured $150k in operating funds & $2mil. in capital funds to start building a prerelease center for women. MD Women are one step closer to having the equitable, community-based prerelease support they deserve. Now, HELP US SEAL THE DEAL.
Go to the link in our bio or https://bit.ly/MDprerelease to thank the Senate & urge the House to affirm the Senate's decision.

Thank you to the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee for including funding for the next phase of implementation of a community-based standalone prerelease center!
Incarcerated women in Maryland have been denied prerelease services for far too long. Implementing the Gender Responsive Prerelease Act, sponsored by Senator Washington and Delegate Crutchfield, must continue to be a top priority to address this inequity in Maryland.
Thanks to Senators Zucker, McCray, and Elfreth for your leadership in securing this funding for the next phase of creating a women’s prerelease center and for holding DPSCS accountable! We look forward to continuing to work with you to end this inequity.
