Global NCD researchers led an analysis to answer the question:
“Does COVID-19 pneumonia have a higher mortality rate than other causes of pneumonia?”

Outcomes Among Patients With Pneumonia From SARS-CoV-2 and Other Etiologies This cohort study compares outcomes between mechanically ventilated patients with pneumonia due to COVID-19 and other etiologies.

The Global NCD team recently published an article about the association between previous Tuberculosis and COPD in 13 different LMIC settings.
Results showed that previous tuberculosis disease is a significant and under-recognised risk factor for COPD and poor lung function in LMICs. Better tuberculosis control will also likely reduce the global burden of COPD.
