On April 16, 2018, the Arab Public Health Organization hosted two prominent speakers; Prof Paul Spiegel, Director of the Center for Humanitarian Health at Johns Hopkins, and Mrs. Amat Alsoswa, former Minister of Human Rights in Yemen. Both speakers highlighted the profound impact of the conflict, and presented lessons learned from the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and the cholera epidemic A thoughtful Q&A discussion followed.

Yesterday, APHO had its first event of the year, celebrating Middle Eastern history and culture. It was wonderful to bring together members of the Hopkins student body who are interested in learning about the region. Stay tuned for more events next term, and thanks to all who came!
