The Morehouse Golf Classic An annual golf tournament dedicated to raising scholarship funds for students in need at Morehouse College

∙ The 2022 Morehouse Golf Classic DMV will be held Saturday October 8th, 2022 from 1:30 - 8:30 pm at the Country Club at Woodmore located at 12320 Pleasant Prospect, Mitchellville, Maryland, 20721

∙ The vision of the Morehouse Golf Classic DMV is to be a preeminent fundraising event for the Morehouse College National Alumni Association in order to produce future leaders that foster and sustain a

n inclusive, global civil society where justice is tempered by integrity, compassion, and courage.

∙ The purpose of the Morehouse Golf Classic DVM is to raise scholarship funds for needy and deserving young men in the face of shrinking financial support and tightening budgets at Historically Black Colleges and Universities such as Morehouse College.

∙ Proceeds from the 2022 Morehouse Golf Classic DMV will benefit students demonstrating a financial need at Morehouse. This event is hosted by the Baltimore Morehouse Alumni Foundation (BMAF) and the Greater Washington DC Morehouse College Alumni Foundation (GWDCMCAF). Since 2011 the Morehouse Golf Classic has raised over $200,000 in scholarships funds. There have been 13 Morehouse Golf Classics (10 in the DMV and 3 in Atlanta)

∙ Our goal in 2022 is to raise $50,000 while producing an enjoyable and memorable golf charity tournament. GOLF REGISTRATION INCLUDES:

A Round of Championship Tournament Golf – TheCountry Club at Woodmore
Drinks and Food on Select Holes
Longest Drive Challenge and Closest to the Pin
A Swag Bag

Attention everyone, JD Cunningham and Tyler Stackhouse from Morehouse have tied for first place overall at the Savannah State Men’s Golf Tournament, and a playoff will determine the winner. It's commendable to have two Morehouse representatives at the top of the leaderboard, and we anticipate a strong overall finish, likely second place, given the current standings, marking a great day for the team.

Yesterday’s Morehouse Golf Classic DMV was more than a tournament—it was a testament to the vision, commitment, and community that bind us together. From our sponsors whose generosity sustains opportunity, to the players whose competitive spirit filled the fairways, to the volunteers who gave their time, and to the Lake Presidential staff whose hospitality ensured a seamless day—we extend our deepest gratitude.

As Dr. Benjamin Mays '20, often reminded us, “Success is not measured by what you do compared to what others do, but by what you do with the ability God gave you.” Each of you used your gifts to make this event a triumph. And as Bakari Sellers would affirm, this gathering was not just about today’s game but about paving pathways for future generations of Morehouse men.

The group shot we captured together reflects more than faces—it reflects a family, a legacy, and a living promise to invest in tomorrow.

The Wake Robin Golf Club-Washington, DC , the oldest Afro-American women's golf club in the United States, invites everyone to participate in the 2025 Helen Webb Harris Founder's Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament. This event is not only a celebration of golf but also a vital fundraiser supporting the Junior Golf Scholarship Fund.

Event Details: 📅 Date: Monday, June 2, 2025 📍 Location: The Country Club at Woodmore, 12320 Pleasant Prospect, Mitchellville, MD 20721 💵 Cost: $195/Golfer | $60/Non-Golfer Awards Luncheon

Prizes awarded in 3 divisions: Women, Men, & Mixed
