🚪✨𝙎𝙩𝙚𝙥 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙇𝙖𝙗 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙪𝙢 𝘾𝙡𝙪𝙗…

At this 6th grade “Museum Opening,” Baltimore Lab School students became curators, researchers, exhibit designers, and storytellers—bringing early human civilization to life through hands-on, arts-integrated projects.

Their exhibits explored life before and after the Agricultural Revolution, ancient Sumerian-style basket weaving, the meaning of Hammurabi’s laws, and advertisements for Mesopotamian inventions. 🧺⚖️🌾

At BLS, learning is never just something students read about—it’s something they build, create, explain, and experience. Through our Academic Club classes that bring history and cultures to life, students strengthen historical understanding, expressive language, problem-solving skills, and confidence as they share their work with others.

🌳 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆 @ 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗯 🌱💚

Baltimore Lab School high school students recently rolled up their sleeves for a hands-on Outdoor Education project with TreeBaltimore, planting new trees along the streets surrounding BLS. 🧤🌿

With guidance from TreeBaltimore, students learned about the importance of urban trees, expanded green space, and the role each of us can play in caring for our environment. 🌎🌳 Then they got to work—digging, planting, watering, and helping create something lasting for our neighborhood. 🪴💧

Inspired in part by environmental leaders like Wangari Maathai, whose work showed the power of planting trees to strengthen communities, our students didn’t just learn about environmental stewardship—they practiced it. 🌱🤝

At BLS, Outdoor Education gives students opportunities to explore, observe, take action, and connect classroom learning to the world around them. 🔎🍃 And with this project, they helped create a living legacy.💚🌳✨

🍂 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲, 𝗪𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁

BLS Lower School students took their learning outdoors at Lake Roland, where nature became the classroom, and curiosity led the way. With journals in hand, students slowed down to observe the world around them—looking closely, asking questions, sketching what they saw, and using words, drawings, and numbers to document the natural world. 📝🍃

Through prompts like “I notice…” “I wonder…” and “It reminds me of…”, students practiced paying attention to details, making connections, and building observational skills in a real-world setting.

At Baltimore Lab School, Outdoor Education gives students opportunities to explore new places, conquer new challenges, and become more aware of their surroundings—helping them build confidence, curiosity, and a deeper connection to the world around them. 💚

𝗕𝗟𝗦 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲—𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 🎭✨

Inspired by 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘰𝘵 by Peter H. Reynolds, this year’s Lower and Middle School performance celebrated a powerful idea: sometimes one small mark is all it takes to begin discovering what you can do. 🖌️

That spirit came to life as students shared their creativity, confidence, and joy through music, movement, theater, and student-created videos. Each moment was a reminder that every student has something meaningful to contribute. 🎶🎬

At Baltimore Lab School, Make Your Mark is more than a performance theme. It reflects what happens every day in our classrooms—where students with learning differences are supported through innovative, arts-integrated, hands-on teaching that helps them discover their strengths, build confidence, and prepare to make their mark in the world. 💙💚💜

✨ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: 𝗔 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗹𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 ✨

Baltimore Lab School’s High School students from all grades came together for a night that felt truly legendary. With the Mount Olympus theme setting the scene, students had the chance to dress up, dance, laugh, take photos, share food, and enjoy time together outside the school day. 🏛️🌙

And in true Mount Olympus fashion, our seniors were honored at the start of the night with their “Prom Royalty” sashes—because every great celebration needs a few gods, goddesses, kings, and queens. 👑⚡

A special shoutout to Mr. Matthews, BLS technology teacher and prom DJ, for keeping the music going and the dance floor moving all night long! 🎧🎶

More than just a fun night out, prom was a chance for our High Schoolers to connect, celebrate one another, and make memories that will stay with them long after the final song. 💫

🚗🥚 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻!

Middle school students put their creativity, problem-solving, and engineering skills to the test with an egg-citing design challenge: build a car that could roll down a ramp and protect its very fragile passenger—an egg!

Using wheels, axles, and the engineering design process, students designed safety features to help their cars survive a series of increasingly forceful head-on collisions. Then came the best part: testing their creations and watching what happened. 👀💥

At 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗯 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, hands-on learning helps students think critically, collaborate, experiment, adjust, and try again—because real learning often happens in the build, the crash, and the redesign.🛠️👏

🦁 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗽, 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝟯: 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 & 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀

For the final chapter of our San Antonio trip memories, our BLS seniors explored the sights and sounds of the San Antonio Zoo and the history and grounds of the Alamo. 🤠

The senior trip is a chance to celebrate, but it is also a chance to be curious, experience new places, learn about history where it happened, and practice the independence that comes with taking on the world beyond BLS. 💙💚💜

Most of all, it gave our seniors time to laugh, connect, and cherish these final weeks together before graduation. 🎓✨
