Just a little reminder that the SK sisterhood is alive and well. The Seton Keough Class of 2018 got together with family, friends, and faculty last night for a baccalaureate mass at Church of the Ascension. These girls may have graduated from different schools this year, but they will ALWAYS be Seton Keough Gators, through and through. Thanks to all who helped make this celebration happen!

The Last Day of Classes
A Seton Keough tradition: seniors are allowed to paint and tie-dye their uniforms on their last day. This year the freshmen, sophomores, and juniors painted, tie-dyed, and signed their uniforms on this last day of classes at Seton Keough High School. Many painted logos and mascots of the schools they will attend next year.

Junior Victor Amah wrote the following poem “My Sisters” shortly after the news broke that Seton Keough High School was closing. She recited it at the Junior Ring ceremony and again at the Catholic School’s Week Mass. She recited it for the last time yesterday during the final Mass:
My Sisters
By Victoria Amah, Class of 2018
I've got sisters
They are powerful young women who don't let tragedy uproot them
I've got sisters passed on through tradition
Tied together with green and gray
They all treasure the same legacy
I've got sisters who can dance up a storm
And sisters who can run circles on a basketball court
And sisters who sing so beautifully that they hypnotize your ears
Sisters who play a role like they were born to
And make instruments do gorgeous things
Sisters who live life to their own beat and can draw like you couldn't believe
Sisters who run faster than a blink and always annoy and interrupt me
Sisters who make me grateful for my surroundings, who have bettered me and changed me
Sisters who make me laugh so hard I shake the earth
Sisters who do things without looking for gratitude
I've got sisters
All of them undoubtedly beautiful and strong
I've got sisters who will accept me no matter what
I've got sisters who bond over a day of competition and fill my addiction to candy
And listen to my ridiculous rants and pretend to hear me
I've got sisters from everywhere who can do anything they please
I've got sisters who will defend me
And when some fool tries to come for me,
I'll look at them in the face, smile, and say,
I've got sisters so fierce they could destroy you
And even on the bad days I still love my sisters
Because you can't choose the family that God blesses you with
And He is so great and wise to have blessed me with all of you
My Sisters

Thank You Msgr. McGovern!

McGovern for celebrating this final Mass and also for his unwavering support and dedication. He has served on the School Board as the school’s Canonical Representative, said weekly Mass in the school chapel, and celebrated many school Masses throughout the years. He is joined by former Principal Angela Calamari, President Donna Bridickas, and alter servers Sydney Bubnis, Erin Young, and Alyssa Zaccari.
