The Blue Jay’s Perch at Johns Hopkins Eastern is a community garden for JHU students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Workdays are currently every Sunday from 10am-noon. The Blue Jay’s Perch at Johns Hopkins Eastern will be a space for Johns Hopkins students, faculty, staff and community members to learn, teach, and practice safe and environmentally sustainable food production methods. It will be a place for building long-term and meaningful relationships within the Johns Hopkins community and with residents in the city of Baltimore. An all-volunteer Garden Committee is the organizing force behind this garden.

This past sunday: we cut back the asparagus (3rd pic), harvested figs, peas, and a LOT of loofah (1st pic). Yes, loofah! Like the one you shower with! They’re vegetables from the cucumber family that inspired the loofahs we buy in stores because of their exfoliating properties. Crazy right?!🙉
