He studies visual perception, with his lab investigating questions like how people are able to see whether a stack of dishes is stable or may topple over (intuitive physical reasoning), or how people are able to read road signs and see other vehicles when driving in heavy rain (perceptual stability).

The Johns Hopkins Mood Disorders Center, with the National Network of Depression Centers Psychiatry and the Arts Series, presents a film screening of Touched with Fire, the drama romance that follows two bipolar poets as they fall in love
The screening of the film will be followed by a question-and-answer session with filmmaker Paul Dalio as well as experts from the Johns Hopkins Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Director J. Raymond DePaulo, Jr., M.D. and author and teacher Kay Redfield Jamison, PhD.
