Our newest partnership program, featuring students from Armistead Gardens School #243 and Maryvale Preparatory School, had a fun and enriching summer! Students enjoyed core classes in Math, ELA, LEADS, and Science, along with engaging electives like Executive Skills, Exploring French Culture, Performing Arts, Fitness, and Roman Culture.
Field trips were both thoughtful and varied. Highlights included a joint field day with our Hamilton/St. Paul’s partnership, a visit to the Maryland Food Bank, and an inspiring trip to the Walters Art Museum.
This summer was a powerful reminder of the impact made possible by the dedication of our directors, teachers, interns, students, school administrators, and the generosity of supporters like you. Thank you for helping us create these opportunities!

One of our co-directors, Darlesha Sherrill, shared one of the most powerful reflections we've heard in 20 years of MGP:
“Over these short weeks, I have seen your scholars live up to the MGP mission—using education to bridge gaps between students across the city, forming unbreakable bonds, showing their creativity, and pushing themselves to break through glass ceilings. Here, these young women are able to be themselves fully—without guilt, shame, or worry.”
We can't wait to see the impact they’ll continue to make in their schools and communities! Learn more about our work at middlegradespartnership.org.

This long-standing partnership is vibrant, creative, challenging, and oh so joyful! The directors from Blair-Edison and Park School are extraordinary as are the teachers and interns. It’s like nowhere else. The students from both schools make the most of all the wonderful things they are offered. It’s a magical place. I love my job!

The students in our partnership with The Belair-Edison School - Middle and The Park School of Baltimore had an exciting and enriching summer! While the academic growth they achieved in their classes was truly impressive, the joy and fun they experienced were just as memorable. Over the summer, students explored the African Diaspora, cooked related dishes, and even designed their own food trucks featuring global cuisines. The Park School’s campus provided a vibrant setting, complete with an outdoor ropes course, pool, and gym. Students also enjoyed music through daily choir and African drumming sessions. Highlights included a cookout hosted by the directors and a full day of activities planned by our talented interns.
This summer was a powerful blend of learning, creativity, and connection—an unforgettable experience for all involved. Visit middlegradespartnership.org to learn more about our program!

We’re honored! Thank you to Congressman Johnny Olszewski for recognizing the Middle Grades Partnership with a Certificate of Congressional Recognition! This award celebrates “another summer filled with academic excellence”, and at MGP we know it’s about more than just math, reading, writing, and science. It’s about building lasting friendships, bridging communities, and developing tomorrow’s leaders.
Every summer, we bring together public and private school students from across Baltimore to learn, grow, and dream together. Through seven unique partnerships, MGP supports students through their entire middle school journey, a critical time to build both academic strength and self-confidence.
Thank you, , for recognizing the power of partnership, equity, and opportunity. The future is bright, and it starts here.

Our students from the Lillie May Carroll Jackson Charter School and Roland Park Country School partnership have had an incredible summer! They’ve taken part in engaging, project-based classes, including LEADS (focused on becoming community leaders), Language Arts inspired by historical activism, data-driven Math explorations, Engineering, Art, Cooking Club, and Dance.
Beyond the classroom, our scholars enjoyed exciting field trips: tackling the Ropes Course at McDonogh School, swimming at the Rita Church Community Center and Druid Hill pools, exploring the Inner Harbor by water taxi later this week, and closing out the summer with a day at Hammerman Beach.
It’s been truly inspiring to watch students from these two schools grow together and become a family this summer!
