We’re thrilled to feature Amy Fix as our April Athlete Spotlight!

Born in Buffalo, NY, and raised in Greensboro, NC, Amy now lives in Little Italy—just a block from the gym. She has quickly become one of our most consistent and hardest-working members. Always coachable and eager to improve, Amy brings a positive attitude to every class.

Amy originally joined CrossFit to build strength and find a community—and she’s done exactly that. The friendships she’s formed, along with her fiancé Alex (who she convinced to join as well), help keep her motivated and consistent. Most importantly, she’s found that CrossFit is just plain fun.

Lately, Amy has been working hard on double-unders and split jerks—and she’s making great progress on both.

Outside the gym, Amy has an impressive academic and professional background. She attended East Carolina University for undergrad and LECOM for medical school, and she is currently an OB/GYN resident at Sinai Hospital.
When she’s not at the gym or the hospital, Amy enjoys reading and trying new breweries around the city.

Fun fact: Amy has solo backpacked through 18 countries! She was also a competitive gymnast growing up and, despite breaking both elbows in high school, she was a two-time state champion.

Thank you, Amy, for being an important part of what we're building here at CrossFit Harbor East!

Athlete Spotlight

We’re excited to recognize Jamie Richardson as our March Athlete of the Month! She is one of CrossFit Harbor East’s best ambassadors, bringing several friends and family members to our community.

Jamie grew up in White Marsh and now lives in Little Italy. She’s coming up on her one-year CHE anniversary, joining shortly after having her daughter, Maddie. Her husband, Paul, was already a member, and Jamie was looking for a way to get back into fitness — CHE turned out to be a great fit.

Jamie arrived with a strong athletic background but had never touched a barbell before joining the gym. Since then, she’s embraced the challenge and continues to make progress. While she initially joined for the workouts, she loves the friendliness of the community and connecting with other members - that’s what helps motivate her to consistently show up.

Outside the gym, Jamie works for the Maryland Transportation Administration — yay buses! When she’s not working, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and checking out new restaurants around the city.

Fun fact: Jamie grew up on a farm — Richardson Farms — so some of you may already be familiar with the name.

Congratulations, Jamie! We’re so glad you (and Paul) are part of the Harbor East

Thank you CHE Family!
This month we hit our highest class attendance since January 2024, not because of a reset or a fresh start—but because you just kept showing up.
We know life is full—careers, school, family, shoveling out of snow and everything else competing for your time. Choosing to keep going anyway is what actually builds progress.
As we head into February, the goal stays the same. Keep showing up (and take your rest days), keep moving well, and let consistency do the work.
Thanks for prioritizing your health and helping make this community what it is!

Introducing your CrossFit Harbor East Coaches!

01/08/2026

This week we started a new 7 week cycle to help you get back into a strong, consistent rhythm after the holidays. Attendance has been great, but if you’ve missed any of the key lifts, consider hitting an open gym, or asking a coach to work with you if there’s time after the daily METCON.

After a thorough warmup, we’re testing 1 Rep Max on Back Squat, Strict Press and Deadlift to get a baseline and use that for the training going forward. The METCONs will have gradual volume builds for Wall Balls, Toes-to-Bar and Burpees. Fridays you’ll see METCONs of previous Open workouts to test your progress. Let’s Goooo!
