Our final staff highlight - meet our Head of School - Ms. Bonita!

Now in her third year at GreenMount, Ms. Bonita brings in a passion for learning and building relationships with students every day. Her journey into education began while volunteering in a kindergarten classroom during college, where she discovered how much she loved working with children.

One fun fact about Ms. Bonita is that she’s a talented calligrapher who loves the art of beautiful handwriting—a passion first inspired by her fifth-grade teacher. She also enjoys spending time near the water, where she feels calm and recharged.

Her favorite GreenMount tradition is our Theme Events, where students proudly share their learning and celebrate one another’s accomplishments. Ms. Bonita believes what makes GreenMount truly special is the strong sense of community, small class sizes, and the meaningful relationships that help every child feel known, valued, and supported.

Meet our Director of Finance and Operations - Mr. Nate!

Mr. Nate is entering his fourth year at GreenMount and loves being part of a collaborative, caring community. Inspired by his uncle, who was a head of school, he chose a career in education because of the positive impact schools can have on students’ lives.

A fun fact about Mr. Nate is that he worked as a rock climbing guide and at an outdoor school, experiences that helped shape his love of experiential learning. He enjoys spending time on Cape Cod and has always had a passion for math.

One of Mr. Nate’s favorite GreenMount traditions is the End-of-Year Social, where the entire community comes together to celebrate another successful year. He believes the strong sense of community is what makes GreenMount such a special place for students and families alike.

We’re grateful for the teamwork and dedication Mr. Nate brings to GreenMount every day!

Meet our Director of Admissions - Ms. Julie!

Ms. Julie is entering her fifth year at GreenMount and loves building relationships with both our students and their families. Inspired by years of babysitting and a lifelong love of working with children, she enjoys welcoming new families into the GreenMount community and helping them feel at home.

Outside of school, Ms. Julie enjoys spending time with her family, exploring Baltimore by water taxi, and visiting local favorites like Clavel and Thames Street Oyster House. Many people are surprised to learn that she’s also a trained pastry chef!

Her favorite GreenMount tradition is the Variety Show, where students of all ages cheer each other on and celebrate one another’s talents. She believes GreenMount’s explorations classes and strong sense of community make our school a truly special place to learn and grow.

This weekend, we hosted our first CO-OP work day of the new school year! Families came out to help us clean, organize, set up classrooms, and w**d the garden beds.

Meet our Student Support Facilitator - Ms. Rebecca!

Ms. Rebecca is starting her first year at GreenMount and is already a familiar face in our community, she has also been a GreenMount parent for the past two years! Growing up in a family full of teachers, she has always believed in the power of education to make the world a better place and help us become better humans.

She loves helping students discover tools and strategies that empower them to learn and grow. Outside of school, Ms. Rebecca enjoys spending time outdoors, observing birds and flowers, and exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains. She also speaks Spanish fluently and is an avid reader who has always loved English.

As both a parent and staff member, Ms. Rebecca especially loves GreenMount’s Variety Show and the joyful way our community comes together. She believes what makes GreenMount unique is our community and our commitment to creating a place where every child is encouraged to be themselves.

Meet our Director of Academic Programming - Ms. Liana!

Heading into her sixth year at GreenMount, Ms. Liana has spent her life surrounded by education. Inspired by her parents, who both worked in the field, she developed a passion for learning and helping others discover their own strengths.

One of her favorite parts of her role is supporting new teachers as they grow and find their passion for working with children. She especially loves seeing students gain confidence in themselves and their ideas. In fact, one lesson she hopes every student learns is to trust themselves.

Outside of school, Ms. Liana enjoys hiking along Stony Run and spending time at her favorite place, Hollywood Beach, Florida. Before becoming an educator, she even taught adults working on cruise ships!

Ms. Liana believes GreenMount’s unique blend of creativity, academic rigor, and real-world learning experiences helps students develop a strong sense of self and prepares them to succeed anywhere. We are grateful for the leadership and dedication she brings to our community every day!

Meet our Administrative Assistant and CO-OP Coordinator - Ms. Kate!

Ms. Kate has been part of the GreenMount community since 2022. Her passion for education began while serving as a student sponsor at The Community School, where she saw firsthand the difference encouragement, support, and meaningful relationships can make in a young person’s life.

She loves building connections with students and helping create a welcoming environment where every child feels accepted and valued. Her favorite GreenMount tradition is the Variety Show, a celebration of creativity, confidence, and the way our community comes together to cheer one another on.

Ms. Kate believes GreenMount’s strong sense of community is what makes it truly special. Through our close relationships, inclusive culture, and cooperative spirit, students, families, and staff work together to create a place where everyone belongs.
