Our 6th grade students and parents prepared over a hundred meals to fill fridges in Baltimore city for the B’More Community Fridge Network.
What a joy-filled week of stories, creativity, learning, and community! From inspiring author visits to Character Dress-Up Day, this special week celebrated reading, imagination, and the joy of learning together. Lit Fest is just one of the many ways we inspire curiosity and cultivate a love of learning at Cambridge School.
We kicked off Lit Fest 2026 last Friday with guest storyteller Mr. Walter Jones. At All-School Chapel, he shared a dynamic message that brought Saul’s conversion to life and left us excited for a week devoted to the stories that capture our hearts and imaginations.
The 6th grade traveled back to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1637, when Anne Hutchinson was put on trial for slander and heresy. What better way to bring history, and a piece of primary source literature, to life than by acting it out? This year, the 6th graders took the lead in directing, costumes, props, and program design. Well done, 6th grade!
Our 5th grade is designed to be the perfect bridge to middle school. Our 5th grade teachers gently introduce students to greater independence, deeper academic challenge, and growing responsibility, all within a nurturing and supportive environment. It’s a year of growth, confidence, and preparation for what’s ahead in middle school. Join us Thursday, March 26 for Open House and see for yourself! The truth of “I Am, I Can, I Will” is a multifaceted conviction worth exploring from many angles. In Part 2 of this Cambridge Foundation Stone article, we highlight how we give students a secure anchoring in this idea in the classroom, rooting them in truth, beauty, and goodness as they learn about themselves and the world around them. So much of what we do flows out of what we believe about ourselves. The challenges we tackle, the risks we take, and the way we carry ourselves all begin with the ideas we believe and the narratives we listen to. Charlotte Mason summed this up well with the phrase “I am, I ought, I can, I will.” Actions begin with belief. Words begin with ideas. Courage stems from what we believe to be true about ourselves, the world we live in, the possibilities it holds, and our capability to face the challenges ahead. Advent at Cambridge
Education is about so much more than academics. As important as the content is, the social-emotional development of our children is equally important (if not more so) than the facts they can recite. At Cambridge, we believe children are born persons, meaning they have the capacity to engage in their environment with their own unique ideas, emotions, and personalities. It’s our privilege to cultivate their relationship with the Holy Spirit as we invite them to pay attention to His work in their hearts, relationships, and surroundings, and relational rupture and repair is a prime opportunity for this discussion to develop. Read about how our students are growing in relationships and restoration through the formative practice of listening closely to the Holy Spirit at https://www.cambridgeschool.org/blog/the-holy-spirit-is-our-partner
We’re celebrating the foundation of community at Cambridge!
Parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty, and friends all help make Cambridge thrive. Hear from current parent Susanna Hindman on the “magic” of being part of this community.
Thank you for helping us build on our foundation this week. Give today at www.cambridgeschool.org
