As a neighborhood charter school operated by Baltimore Curriculum Project, we support the unique needs of your child and family with joy, purpose, and passion. Wolfe Street Academy became a Baltimore Curriculum Project-operated charter school in August 2007. With approximately 205 students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, this east Baltimore school serves a vibrant, ever-changing co

mmunity. The Wolfe Street neighborhood is home to a large Latino population from Mexico, Central and South America. For this reason, the school provides English as a Second Language education to over fifty percent of its students. Vision

For those who would like to receive a free breakfast, mealtime begins at 7:15 a.m. All community members, including students, staff and parents, gather for morning announcements and the Pledge of Allegiance at 7:35 in the school cafeteria. Dismissal is at 2:25 p.m. Program Philosophy and Model
We are a small school that nurtures the individual strengths and needs of each student. We cultivate a climate of acceptance and support among staff, students, families, and partners. Learning Environment
Wolfe Street Academy follows an adaptive curriculum that allows teachers to adjust the pacing and instructional methods to meet individual student needs. Acceptance and support among students and staff is the cornerstone of Wolfe Street Academy’s culture—both are modeled in day-to-day interactions and instructional approaches. Student Support Programs and Services
Customized support is available to students requiring additional help, as well as to those demonstrating readiness to advance to the next level. A full-time reading coach provides intensive on-site, on-demand professional development to teachers. Intensive reading intervention services are provided to students performing below-grade level. General Wolfe Elementary School (the original name of the school) was named after James Wolfe, an officer in the British Army. While there has been a public school on the current site of Wolfe Street Academy since 1852, the current building and school was built in 1976.

Our Summer Program is fast approaching, and we’re excited to get started this Monday, June 22nd. Please note that there will be NO program on Tuesday, June 23rd due to elections.

We’ve also included the Sandy Beach sign-up for families. As a reminder, our Sandy Point Beach trip is scheduled for July 16th. Only students enrolled in our Summer Program are eligible to attend; however, families of enrolled students are welcome to join.
