City Schools proudly names Dr. Otis Eldridge, Band Director and Music Teacher at Hamilton, as our Teacher of the Year. A graduate of City Schools and a three-time graduate of Morgan State University, Dr. Eldridge has spent more than a decade shaping students through music education. As a band director, music teacher, and arts integration specialist, he brings purpose and discipline to every classroom, grounded in a belief in each student’s potential. The Parent and Community Advisory Board (PCAB) is now accepting applications for the upcoming term!

We’re looking for 1–2 new members who are ready to bring their voice, perspective, and commitment to supporting student success across City Schools. PCAB is a group of dedicated parent and community volunteers who help strengthen the connection between families, educators, and the district.

If you’re passionate about equity, collaboration, and making an impact at the district level, we encourage you to apply.

ICYMI: At last week’s PCAB public hybrid meeting, we reviewed key findings from our Family Transportation Survey, highlighting safety, reliability, and communication challenges impacting student attendance. Malcolm Watson shared updates on safety efforts, including the See Say App and the Youth Transit Council, while outlining ongoing improvements.

Kevin Cuppett also provided updates on Policy IKEA (Promotion and Retention) and Policy IKEB (Graduation Standards), including changes to reading proficiency, math pathways, and graduation requirements.
