The Co-Design Lead will be an integral member of the MICA Center for Social Design team and work closely with the Center’s Co-Director on the Multiscale RECIPES for Sustainable Food Systems project funded through the National Science Foundation.
Multiscale RECIPES for Sustainable Food Systems is a national network of university and community partners, focused on creating knowledge that transforms our wasteful food system to promote sustainability, equity, and resilience. RECIPES is a multi-year initiative and the largest externally-funded research grant in MICA’s history.
The Co-Design Lead will lead on all aspects of MICA's role and team in this important national initiative, demonstrating the role of design in advancing the goals of the RECIPES network toward a more sustainable, equitable and resilient food system.

We would love some help to finish the Bee Safe Art Crosswalk! Meet us at Johnston Square Elementary School if you have time to paint a flower or two. We will be painting from 10am to 4pm on April 10 and April 11.

The Made You Look project is getting ready to install the Bee Safe Art Crosswalk together with Re-Build Johnston Square Neighborhood Organization. They will be painting outside the Johnston Square Elementary School on March 26 and March 27.

Are you a Maryland Institute College of Art undergrad or grad student interested in breaking out of the MICA bubble and learning human-centered design?
Practice-Based Studio courses at the Center for Social Design bring MICA students from across disciplines together to work on a social challenge in Baltimore in collaboration with an outside partner. Past partners have included the Baltimore City Health Department, Maryland Department of Transportation, and Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and topics have ranged from access to fresh food to reimagining the HIV testing process.
