Elijah Cummings Youth Program in Israel (ECYP)

On June 8th, ECYP will celebrate alum Darius Beckford and honor Carla Farrington, someone who has helped build the village behind our alumni.
Through her years of service alongside Congressman Elijah Cummings, Carla was a constant supporter of ECYP, cheering on students at graduation, seeing them off as they traveled, and supporting staff behind the scenes.
Even after 2019, her commitment never wavered. Carla continues to invest in the success of ECYP and its alumni, reminding us that strong leaders are supported by strong communities.

Sunday evening, we hosted our Social Justice Teen Fellowship finale, “A Seat at the Table,” where Fellows gathered with peers for meaningful dialogue over dinner centered on the four experiences they shared throughout the year. 🍽️✨

Fellows reflected on their journeys through the Deep South, explorations of Black and Jewish history in Baltimore, and visits to both the Weitzman Jewish Museum and the National Museum of African American History & Culture. 🏛️📚

We were inspired by the thoughtful conversations, curiosity, and connections sparked through their stories and we hope those conversations continue far beyond our program. 💬🤝
