On Thursday, February 12, Brothers of the Pi Theta and Sigma Sigma Chapters committed to celebrating Black History Month by attending the 2nd Annual Baltimore Marcus Garvey Symposium at the historic Trinity Baptist Church. We were able to connect with Pi Theta and Sigma Sigma Alumni in support of the sponsorship of this impactful night.
Hosted by Bro. Steven Golding (2ΣΣFA94), the event highlighted the work of Pan-African activists, changemakers, and historians as guests commemorated the anniversary of Marcus Garvey’s 1922 three-day lecture series hosted at Trinity. We were joined by Area 5 Director Ronald Wooden, MAAC President Bro. Mtokufa Ngwuenya, Bro. Padmore John (3ΣΣFA94), Bro. Bruce Dunams (2ΠΘSP96), Bro. Anwar Young (2ΣΣFA97).

On January 11th and 13th, Chapter President Bro. Baron Arday (1ΣΣSP25) successfully concluded our semester-long Clothing and Essentials Drive in support of communities in Accra, Ghana🇬🇭. These items were distributed at Nyamedua Children’s Home and Abel Royal International School.
A total of 136 pieces of clothing, 30 packs of menstrual pads, 18 packs of condoms, one menstrual cup sterilizer case, and one blanket were collected over the semester and distributed. In addition to the distribution, a seminar on safe sexual practices was held in alignment with our National Program Project Alpha, emphasizing sexual health education and personal responsibility.
Bro. Arday also spoke with students about his college journey, encouraging academic preparation and higher education while highlighting the importance of transitioning from high school to college.
