Looking for a fun and educational summer activity for your child? 🏊‍♂️

The 's IM Program is returning to from June 20 through August 14, helping kids ages 7-14 learn how to swim, practice water safety, and build confidence both in and out of the pool.

The program will be offered at four Baltimore City pool locations, with instructors specially trained by the Michael Phelps Foundation. We’re excited to announce a full-time, benefited position for a Horticultural Assistant at the Rawlings Conservatory!

Candidates who have experience with landscaping, tropical and desert greenhouse plants, and garden design are especially encouraged to apply.

Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday. One weekend day per week is required. Hours vary seasonally from 7:30 – 3:30 to 8:30 – 4:30, plus occasional evening events and other opportunities for overtime. Driver’s license required.

As a Horticultural Assistant, you'll perform tasks including the following:

🌱Horticultural Care (display greenhouses and outdoor gardens) – watering, pruning, IPM, flower bed design and installation, pesticide/fertilizer application, weeding, planting, string trimming, mowing

🌱Winter and spring flower displays – design, install, maintain, and uninstall

🌱Maintenance of interior plantings includes tropicals, palms, orchids, and succulents

Is your little one ready for the next big milestone? Toilet training can be a journey, but you don’t have to navigate it alone! Join us for a helpful workshop where we’ll dive into the common challenges, signs of readiness, and positive techniques to make potty training a happy experience for both you and your child.

As Africans for Mental Health (AFMH) approaches 9 years of community impact on May 31, we remain committed to equipping individuals and families with practical mental health support skills during Mental Health Awareness Month and beyond. 💚

Family caregivers and community members are often the first to notice when someone is struggling — and the first to offer support.

Join our FREE Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) trainings in partnership with Sheppard Pratt.

Adult MHFA helps participants recognize, understand, and respond to signs of mental health challenges and substance use concerns in adults.

💡 What You’ll Learn
💚 How to recognize signs and symptoms of mental health challenges
💚 How to support adults experiencing distress
💚 How to connect individuals to appropriate professional and community resources
💚 How to approach conversations with confidence, empathy, and care

✔ 2 hours self-paced pre-work completed a week before training
✔ 6 hours live instructor-led training over two days
✔ Open to all over 18 years old
🎓 Participants receive a 3-year Mental Health First Aider certification
