Integrative Body Therapies by Gerie Bell - Integrating Massage, Shiatsu, Jin Shin Jyutsu, & Ortho-Bi My professional credentials.
I am Gerie Bell, Licensed Massage Therapist, Jin Shin Jyutsu Practitioner, and Ortho-Bionomy Associate. My goal for you in each session of my work is: deep relaxation, enhanced body awareness, pain relief, increased ability to cope with stress, improved sleep, and the easing of many chronic conditions. I draw from over 20 years experience, using various massage techniques, and energy-balancing a
pproaches including deep-tissue and myo-fascial release, neuromuscular therapy, basic Swedish massage, Shiatsu, cranio-sacral therapy, Jin Shin Jyutsu (see www.jsjinc.com), and most recently, since 2010,, Ortho-Bionomy, which has become a powerful component of my work. Ortho-Bionomy is a movement-based, positional-release approach, developed by an osteopath, with a focus on freedom of movement and pain reduction--often pain elimination, and can be quite amazing in how it eases restrictions in your body (and mind). (See www.Ortho-Bionomy.org)
In a session, I may focus on one of these approaches, or I may use a combination of several, depending on your needs and preferences. Maryland Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Jin Shin Jyutsu Practitioner (with over 500 hours of study), Associate in Ortho-Bionomy, Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork, American Massage Therapy Association member for over 25 years. Regarding life experiences, I am mother to two grown children and grandmother of two young granddaughters. I have a BS in Social Work (Morgan State University, 1980).
