This is an important article for families who think “educational”computer programs & games are improving their students real learning. The data show that you just can’t beat the gains that come from the difficult mental work of a rigorous curriculum.

Our American Comp & Lit course has wrapped for the year, and I'm excited to share some of my students' final projects. Our Post-Truth Media Project required students to create an original reel and to repurpose a well-known meme to teach teens strategies for navigating media and news sources.

Students worked with ChatGPT to generate a rough draft script that they revised and edited to meet project requirements.
