On behalf of the Johns Hopkins Trauma System, we are pleased to invite you to attend the 2026 Trauma Conference, From Impact to Outcomes, on October 9, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Johns Hopkins Health Plans in Hanover, Maryland.
This conference is designed to bring together healthcare professionals from across Maryland—including trauma centers, non-trauma centers, EMS agencies, rural healthcare systems, and specialty services—to explore how trauma care, trauma system development, and multidisciplinary collaboration translate into improved patient outcomes and stronger systems of care.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn from subject matter experts through specialized educational tracks for EMS providers, nurses, and advanced practice providers. Topics include pediatric and adult trauma care, burn management, neurotrauma, penetrating injuries, critical care, geriatric trauma, legal considerations, rural trauma challenges, and emerging issues impacting trauma systems today.
In addition to the conference, we are offering several valuable pre-conference educational opportunities on October 8, 2026, including:
• Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS)
• Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course (TOPIC)
• Disaster Management and Emergency Preparedness (DMEP)
The first 25 registrants for the pre-conference courses will receive complimentary registration.
Whether you are a seasoned trauma professional or new to caring for injured patients, this conference provides a unique opportunity to enhance your clinical knowledge, strengthen professional networks, and contribute to advancing trauma care throughout our region. Our goal is to provide high-value, accessible education that benefits all clinicians involved in the care of injured patients.
We encourage you to register early and share this opportunity with colleagues who may benefit from attending.
We look forward to learning with you and working together to improve outcomes for trauma patients across Maryland and beyond.

Today, these wonderful BCFD clinicians attended Trauma Survivors Day at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in recognition of a truly memorable incident and an incredible patient and her baby’s outcome.

The paramedic delivered a heartfelt speech honoring the patient and her family. Trauma Survivors Day is always a powerful reminder of why we do what we do, and we were honored to have these clinicians here today.

One of the most touching moments of the day was hearing her say that the care she received — from beginning to end — inspired her to pursue nursing herself. She is now on her way to becoming a nurse and will graduate in just a few short years.

Thank you to all of the EMS clinicians, nurses, physicians, and hospital staff whose compassion, professionalism, and teamwork continue to change lives every day.
