We ended EMS week today with a wonderful day of learning! Thank you to all of our awesome presenters and big thanks to all of you who came back to us in person! The presentations were all great and the hands on thrombectomy removal activity was fantastic. We even had a few basket winners in the room with us! Happy EMS week!

Today, these wonderful BCFD clinicians attended Trauma Survivors Day at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in recognition of a truly memorable incident and an incredible patient and her baby’s outcome.

The paramedic delivered a heartfelt speech honoring the patient and her family. Trauma Survivors Day is always a powerful reminder of why we do what we do, and we were honored to have these clinicians here today.

One of the most touching moments of the day was hearing her say that the care she received — from beginning to end — inspired her to pursue nursing herself. She is now on her way to becoming a nurse and will graduate in just a few short years.

Thank you to all of the EMS clinicians, nurses, physicians, and hospital staff whose compassion, professionalism, and teamwork continue to change lives every day.
